The bike trails are varied along the way, including flat and easy beachside paths, quiet winding countryside lanes, and some seriously challenging mountain roads.

After breakfast, we will start cycling from the hotel to Puqian Town of Wenchang. There could be some traffic at the beginning of the ride, but gradually you will see less and less traffic when going to the suburbs.
On the way, you will pass the famous 5.5km-long Haiwen Bridge, which is a cross-sea bridge with the highest seismic and wind resistance levels in China and the only one crossing seismic fault zones.
When passing the bridge, we will visit Beigang Village under the bridge. It is a peaceful fishing village with rich coastal traditions. Local fishermen go out to sea daily for fresh seafood, and the village retains its laid-back vibe despite easier access via the bridge. Visitors can enjoy the quiet shore, authentic coastal delicacies, and experience the simple rhythm of traditional fishing life blended with modern connectivity.
We will ride a total distance of 44km in the morning before arriving at Puqian Town of Wenchang. Then we will have lunch in the town and try the popular local dishes with seafood. In the afternoon, after some rest and enjoying a cup of Hainan coffee or fresh coconut water, or a cup of tea, we will do some riding in and around this less-travelled town for an exploration.
After lunch, we will ride around the town for a short exploration. We will ride to the seaside as well as the 400-meter-long old street to see the traditional houses and lifestyle of the locals. There are 176 old buildings built between 1926 and 1930 on the two sides of the street, combining the architectural styles of Southeast Asia and Western Europe with the characteristics of southern China, therefore creating a unique architectural style. Today we will stay overnight at a guesthouse in this charming coastal town with traditional fishing vibes.

Today, we will ride on the eastern part of the tourism road surrounding Hainan Island to the easternmost town of Hainan. After breakfast, we will first ride about 20km on the country road to Mulan Bay and its iconic Mulan Lighthouse to enjoy the scenery of the countryside as well as the natural beauty of the northernmost point of Hainan Island.
After that will cycle mainly on the tourism road along the seaside and ride about 36km to Wengtian Town for lunch. The villages around Wengtian Town are famous for their farms on which watermelon and vegetables are grown, and they will be transported and sold to the inland provinces of China, esp during the winter time.
In the afternoon, we will drive southward to the direction of Longlou Town. After checking in at the hotel and taking a short rest, we will take a walk in this small town for an exploration. This town is renowned as the “Hometown of Aerospace” for hosting the Wenchang Space Launch Site. And our hotel is about 1.5km from the beautiful beaches. So if you like, you may walk or ride there for a visit.
In the evening, we will try the famous coconut chicken for dinner. The soup is clear, sweet, and nourishing, while the chicken retains its juicy texture. It highlights the natural freshness of ingredients, embodying Hainan’s tropical culinary charm.

Tongguling is a coastal mountain range boasting lush forests and panoramic ocean views. We will take the sightseeing car from the entrance to the top of the mountain to enjoy the stunning coastal scenery in this region.
We will start our ride after getting down the mountain, and then ride about 25km to the coconut grove in Wenchang. That is a vast tropical paradise with over 500,000 coconut trees. Stretching along the coast, it boasts swaying palms, soft beaches, and fresh sea breezes.
After having lunch in a restaurant in Wenchang, we will take a visit to the Wennan Old Street and Confucius Temple before continuing to head southward.
Lined with two-storey buildings featuring arcade corridors, wooden windows, and decorated facades, Wennan Old Street showcases charming Nanyang-style architecture from the late Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China. It’s a vivid window into Wenchang’s rich historical and cultural heritage.
Wenchang’s Confucius Temple, one of Hainan’s oldest and best-preserved Confucian sites, dates back to the Northern Song Dynasty(11th century AD ). It features traditional Chinese architecture—red walls, green tiles, carved wooden beams, and courtyard layouts. It’s a cherished landmark for exploring Wenchang’s long-standing respect for education and traditional culture.
After the exploration of the old street and Confucius Temple, we will drive about 45 minutes southward to Shayuan Village of Qionghai, which is near the seaside, and then start our cycling, continuing to head south to the direction of Bo’ao Town. Can Family Mansion is a renowned historical overseas Chinese mansion built in the 1930s by overseas Chinese entrepreneur Cai Jiasen and his brothers upon their return from Indonesia, combining traditional Chinese architectural elements like courtyard layouts with Nanyang-style decorations such as arched windows and carved balustrades.
When finishing the visit to the Cai Family Mansion, we will get in the car and drive about 50 minutes to Hele Town for lunch. Hele is a charming riverside as well as seaside town nestled by a serene inner sea, where three rivers meet the water, creating fertile, brackish conditions.
In the afternoon, we will ride through the most beautiful coastal area of this trip. We will ride about 50km in total, and more than 90 percent of the cycling will be on the road close to the seaside. At certain parts of the tourism road, we will stop to take pictures, and also take a walk to the beach. We could sometimes also see some small islands on the sea while cycling. When arriving at the suburb of Xinging Town, we will stop and take a rest, or enjoy a cup of coffee or coconut water before getting on the vehicle and driving to the hotel.
Our destination today is Xinglong Town, which is a vibrant multi-cultural hub with strong Southeast Asian influences. Famous for its tropical plantations (especially coffee and spices) and unique cuisine blending Chinese and Southeast Asian flavors, it offers a rich sensory experience. Lush greenery, fragrant coffee farms, and warm hospitality make it a charming stop for travelers seeking culture, nature, and delicious treats.

Visitors can explore various themed areas to learn about the growth habits and uses of tropical plants, such as aromatic plants, medicinal plants, and tropical fruit trees.
After that, we will ride part of the greenway in Xinglong to explore this nice town. We will ride to a coffee workshop for a visit and learn about the coffee history and culture of this town.
The town of Xinglong is also known as Hainan’s “coffee town” with a unique coffee culture rooted in its overseas Chinese heritage. Its coffee-growing history dates back to the 1950s, when returned overseas Chinese from Southeast Asia brought robusta coffee seeds and planting techniques to the area. Coffee shops and plantations welcome visitors to pick coffee cherries, learn roasting skills, and savor authentic “Xinglong coffee” paired with local pastries.

We will ride about 39km on the countryside road to Gansang Village, which is a traditional Li-minority village situated in the less-populated inland regions of Hainan. The village has been shifting from traditional betel nut and rubber planting to focusing on high-value apple, jujube, and fragrant lemon industries.
When reaching the village, we will get on our vehicle and drive about one hour to our hotel in the rainforest area of Qiongzhong.
